Rhino Horn, Leopard Skin and Tiger Claws Sold Openly on Facebook

A Bellingcat investigation documents a Myanmar-based wildlife trafficker (MB) who for at least six years advertised and sold parts of protected species—tigers, rhinos, elephants, bears, leopards and others—via Facebook, WeChat, TikTok and other platforms, using graphic imagery and coded language; the report analyses hundreds of adverts and customer conversations, traces over US$21,000 in recorded sales across Myanmar, China and Thailand, maps delivery records and payment accounts, geolocates the seller’s property in Lashio, and led to multiple platform account removals and offers for further investigation by authorities.
