Google sues China-based scammers over Gemini AI abuse

Google has filed a lawsuit against Outsider Enterprise, a China-based cybercrime network that used AI tools (including Gemini) to build phishing websites and scam infrastructure; the operation is tied to hundreds of thousands of victims, estimated millions in losses, roughly 9,000 fake websites and about 1 million fraudulent URLs, and large-scale SMS campaigns and Telegram-based distribution of phishing kits to harvest credentials and payment information.
