Ivanti’s 2026 AI Maturity Report, based on responses from 1,500 IT professionals, finds broad and growing use of AI in IT operations—including autonomous tasks like restarting services, isolating devices, and applying patches—despite frequent AI 'hallucinations' that can have operational impact; governance, accountability, and policy adherence lag behind adoption, and the report recommends codifying trust thresholds so routine remediation can run autonomously while high-severity or system-wide changes require human validation.
