OpenAI introduced an opt-in Advanced Account Security setting for ChatGPT and Codex that disables password sign-in in favor of passkeys or FIDO-compliant hardware security keys, removes email/SMS recovery options, shortens sign-in sessions, excludes enrolled conversations from model training, and partners with Yubico to offer a YubiKey bundle; organizations granted Trusted Access for Cyber must enable the feature (or attest to equivalent phishing-resistant SSO) by June 1, 2026.
