Canonical announced Workshop, a tool that creates reproducible, sandboxed development environments on Ubuntu from YAML configuration files, enabling teams to standardize setups and pull SDKs (e.g., Ollama, OpenCode, NVIDIA CUDA, AMD ROCm). Workshop runs environments in unprivileged system containers, uses a snapd-inspired interface for host resource allocation (mounts, devices, network, GUI, SSH agent), and is positioned to support agentic AI workflows with enforced access controls; documentation and an SDK store are available.
