Windows 10 has remained widely deployed after end-of-support, leaving a significant share of devices exposed: Windows 11 runs on 78.8% of devices while 16.9% still run unsupported Windows 10, and together with older unsupported Windows versions brings nearly 40.9% of Windows devices to an unsupported or soon-to-be unsupported state; Windows 10 devices carry substantially more active CVEs (avg. 1,903 vs 652 on Windows 11), with 66.6% rated high/critical and 2.4% known to be actively exploited, creating heightened operational, compliance, and cyber-insurance risks for organizations.
