Your browser tab could become encrypted storage for someone else’s files

Safecloud is a design and prototype for a browser-based decentralized storage network where files are chunked and encrypted client-side, stored by browser "Drops" and routed by "Jets." The system uses three aligned trees (Merkle integrity, key-derivation confidentiality, and access authorization) to enable deduplication, per-segment streaming and access grants, and detects tampering; an economic layer with a Safebux token and signature-based payment/proof-of-storage is specified but parts remain work-in-progress.
