Booking.com data breach: Customer reservation data exposed

Booking.com notified customers that suspicious activity affected a number of reservations and that unauthorized parties may have accessed personal booking data (names, emails, addresses, phone numbers and messages shared with accommodations). The company says financial information was not accessed, has updated booking PINs and contained the issue; customers report phishing and scam attempts possibly leveraging breached details, and a hacking group (‘Vect’) has claimed responsibility though the claim is unconfirmed.
