Microsoft announced the general availability of High Volume Email (HVE) for Exchange Online, a tenant-native capability for application-to-person internal messaging using dedicated HVE accounts to isolate automated traffic; it is intended for transactional notifications (payroll, IT alerts, device workflows, security notices), integrates with Exchange Online security/compliance controls, requires no new infrastructure, and will be metered from June 1, 2026 at $42 per one million recipients.
