AI AppSec tools agree on just 5% of security findings

Contrast Security's AppSec Overflow 2026 telemetry shows attackers probing and exploiting production applications at scale: the average application is touched every four minutes, with 42 confirmed exploit attempts per application per month (notably untrusted deserialization, path traversal, method tampering and SQLi). Organizations face persistent patch backlogs (average 106 in-house findings per app, 22 high/critical; average 92 days to fix highest-severity issues), while AI tools produce inconsistent scan results and accelerate weaponization of vulnerabilities, shortening time-to-exploit and stressing bug-bounty programs and remediation workflows.
