Fake FBI agents target people who already got scammed

Scammers are impersonating FBI/IC3 personnel to target victims who previously lost money, contacting them via email, phone, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and social ads. Attackers use malicious links, a spoofed IC3 website that collects basic contact and loss details, and AI-generated deepfake videos of officials to lend credibility. The FBI warns IC3 has no social media presence and never initiates contact or requests payment, and advises typing www.ic3.gov directly and checking for signs of deepfakes before responding.
