Similar to a prior attack in France, attackers remotely manipulated refrigeration control systems at supermarkets across multiple European countries (Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, and later Finland, Ireland, Estonia, and the Netherlands), switching evaporators/defrost modes so freezers warmed and chilled goods spoiled. French cybersecurity agency ANSSI and reporting attribute the incidents to internet-exposed, unpatched management interfaces on devices (many end-of-life), remediation requires software updates and physical modifications, and attribution remains unknown.
