Critical open-source projects get a new security framework

The Linux Foundation has launched Akrites, a cross-industry initiative that creates a shared Security Incident Response Team and Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure process to help open source maintainers manage vulnerability reporting, remediation, and public disclosure; founding members include major cloud, AI, and security companies, and the initiative emphasizes collaboration to address AI-accelerated vulnerability discovery.
