Apple extends Private Cloud Compute to third-party data centers

Apple is expanding its Private Cloud Compute (PCC) platform to Google Cloud to support Apple Intelligence workloads while preserving its security and privacy guarantees. The announcement describes PCC’s security model (stateless computation, no privileged runtime access, non-targetability), use of confidential computing technologies (NVIDIA Confidential Computing, Intel TDX, Google Titan), cryptographically verifiable hardware ledgers, multi-root attestation, isolated attestation VMs, short-lived inference processes, and commitments to publish PCC binaries and provide research access via the Apple Security Bounty program.
