Redefining fleet management at Cloudflare

Cloudflare introduces Zinc, an internal Rust-based system that centralizes management of servers, network devices, and datacenter operations through strongly-typed models, APIs, and a unified web UI/CLI. Replacing sprawling YAML configurations, Zinc handles workload assignments, least-privilege access control, change approvals, repair automation, diagnostics via INAT, maintenance window orchestration, and reboot scheduling, while integrating with NetBox for physical asset data. The platform improves scalability, automation, and observability for fleet operations across Cloudflare’s global infrastructure.
