How Cloudflare auto-mitigated world record 3.8 Tbps DDoS attack

Cloudflare reports and analyzes a month-long, large-scale Layer 3/4 DDoS campaign that generated unprecedented attack volumes (up to 3.8 Tbps and 2.14 Bpps) using global botnets of compromised routers, DVRs, and servers—some leveraging a critical ASUS router vulnerability—and explains how Cloudflare’s anycast network, XDP/eBPF-based l4drop, dynamic fingerprinting, and autonomous dosd mitigations detected and mitigated the attacks without impacting customers.
