Building a serverless, post-quantum Matrix homeserver

This post outlines a proof-of-concept Matrix homeserver running on Cloudflare Workers, replacing PostgreSQL/Redis/filesystem with D1/KV/R2 and using Durable Objects for atomic operations, thereby delivering serverless operations, global performance, and reduced costs while preserving Matrix’s end-to-end encryption and gaining post-quantum TLS by default; it details storage and key-handling design, OAuth/OIDC support, Sliding Sync for efficiency, and contrasts the operational and economic advantages over traditional VPS-based deployments.
