General availability for WAF Content Scanning for file malware protection

Cloudflare announced the general availability of WAF Content Scanning, a feature that detects and blocks malicious uploads in-line, now supporting files up to 15 MB with improved performance and analytics visibility. The update includes a redesigned architecture that moves rule execution into the malware scanner to minimize latency, broader file type coverage via heuristics (not relying on Content-Type), and new fields for custom WAF rules and logging. Customers can enable and configure scanning via API or dashboard, use custom JSON parsing (e.g., base64 files), and view detection insights in Security Analytics, Security Events, and Logpush.
