Async QUIC and HTTP/3 made easy: tokio-quiche is now open-source

Cloudflare announces the open-sourcing of tokio-quiche, an asynchronous Rust library that integrates the quiche QUIC/HTTP/3 implementation with the Tokio runtime to simplify building high-performance QUIC applications. The post describes its actor-based architecture (InboundPacketRouter, IoWorker), the ApplicationOverQuic trait and H3Driver for HTTP/3, and its production use powering systems like iCloud Private Relay Proxy B, Oxy-based proxies, and WARP’s MASQUE client. It aims to lower integration barriers for QUIC/HTTP/3 and privacy-preserving technologies, with plans to release higher-level HTTP client/server abstractions in the future.
