Cloudflare acquires Baselime to expand serverless application observability capabilities

Cloudflare announced the acquisition of Baselime, an OpenTelemetry-native observability platform built for serverless and modern cloud applications. The post highlights Baselime’s focus on high-cardinality/dimensionality data, real-time error tracking, and developer-centric workflows, and details plans to embed observability across Cloudflare’s stack (e.g., Workers, D1, R2, KV) with deeper integrations, AI-assisted debugging, and LLM observability. Baselime’s features will remain available and are now free, with a roadmap to integrate into the Cloudflare dashboard and sunset standalone Baselime products toward the end of 2024.
