Cloudflare announces the open beta of Workflows, a durable execution engine for building resilient, multi-step applications on Workers that persist state, handle retries/backoff, and scale automatically. The post explains the step-based programming model, long-sleep and retry mechanisms (scheduler.wait and Durable Objects alarms), architecture leveraging SQLite-backed Durable Objects and JavaScript RPC, and provides examples, APIs, Wrangler commands, observability via REST/GraphQL analytics, and CPU-based pricing aligned with Workers.
