Trapping misbehaving bots in an AI Labyrinth

Cloudflare introduces AI Labyrinth, an opt-in feature that deploys AI-generated, pre-sanitized decoy pages via hidden links to misdirect unauthorized AI crawlers and bots, wasting their resources while protecting real site content. The system integrates pre-generated content stored in R2, injects invisible links only for suspected scrapers, includes SEO-safe directives, and acts as a next-generation honeypot whose telemetry feeds Cloudflare’s machine learning models to improve bot detection. It can be enabled with a simple dashboard toggle and aims to evolve into more realistic, harder-to-detect decoy networks.
