Improve global upload performance with R2 Local Uploads

Cloudflare announced R2 Local Uploads (open beta), which writes object data close to clients and asynchronously replicates it to the bucket’s region, delivering up to 75% lower TTLB for cross‑region uploads while maintaining strong consistency and immediate availability. The feature uses Durable Objects for metadata, Cloudflare Queues for replication task management, and a pull‑model polling service to execute replication via the Gateway Worker, optimizing cross‑regional data movement and reliability. Local Uploads is not available for jurisdiction‑restricted buckets and incurs standard Class A operation costs, with simple enablement via the dashboard or Wrangler.
