UpGuard’s Cyber Risk Ratings: Enhancing Risk Categorization for 2024 | UpGuard

UpGuard details an update to its cyber risk rating methodology, expanding external attack surface risk categories from five to ten (including website security, encryption, IP reputation, brand, email, DNS, network, data leakage, attack surface, and vulnerability management) and better aligning questionnaires with common frameworks. The scoring model now calculates overall and category scores separately to more accurately reflect rare, high-impact risks and provide clearer, actionable insights, which resulted in minor score decreases for most organizations.
