The great location leak: Privacy risks in dating apps

Researchers demonstrated that some location-based dating apps leak relative distance information which can be combined from multiple spoofed positions to triangulate a user's exact location; they examined 15 apps, detailed the issue in a white paper, and responsibly disclosed the findings which vendors have since remedied.
