KillSec Ransomware Group Dismantled, 16-Year-Old Suspected Admin Arrested

An international operation disrupted the KillSec ransomware group (Operation KillSwitch), resulting in three arrests—including a suspected 16-year-old administrator—seizure of five servers and domains, and at least 110 TB of stolen data; investigators have linked the group to roughly 1,000 suspected attacks (about 500 confirmed), found evidence of AI-assisted infrastructure and cloud-storage exploitation, and continue analysing seized devices and tracing cryptocurrency proceeds.
