US Seizes $400 Million Linked to Helix Dark Web Crypto Mixer

The U.S. Department of Justice has finalized forfeiture of more than $400 million in cash, real estate, and cryptocurrencies linked to Helix, a darknet cryptocurrency mixer run by Larry Dean Harmon that processed hundreds of thousands of bitcoins to obscure illicit proceeds. Harmon was previously convicted and sentenced, his brother attempted to steal seized funds and was prosecuted, and the coordinated international law-enforcement effort recovered substantial assets for victims.
