Spanish hacker José Luis Huertas ("Alcasec") pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2 years and 7 months for stealing 574,908 bank records after abusing a stolen digital certificate from the Spanish traffic agency (DGT) to access the SARA government network, deploying a fake login page to harvest court workers' credentials, storing data on Lithuanian Cherry Servers, and selling the records via dark-web services and cryptocurrency; two accomplices were also convicted and assets (including crypto) were seized.
