Bitget disclosed that on 24 September 2026 attackers gained unauthorized access to parts of its wallet infrastructure and stole about $351.6 million from hot/warm wallets; withdrawals were suspended while deposits and trading remained available and cold wallets were unaffected. The exchange reported its User Protection Fund (>$464M) can cover the loss, flagged receiving addresses, notified law enforcement and blockchain security firms, and suspects the Lazarus Group though no technical evidence for that attribution has been released; a full incident report was promised within 24 hours.
