Two Scattered Spider Members Sentenced to 5.6 Years Over TfL Cyberattack

Two members of the Scattered Spider cybercrime group were sentenced after a 2024 intrusion into Transport for London’s systems that disrupted online services (including Oyster refunds and Dial-a-Ride), exposed customer data, forced mass password resets for employees, and inflicted roughly £39 million in recovery and lost income; investigators recovered recordings, screenshots, Telegram conversations and cryptocurrency evidence, and the case highlights both organized criminal activity and rising youth involvement in hacking.
