Unsecured Video Doorbells Sold on Major Platforms: Millions at Risk of Hacking

Consumer Reports discovered that many low-cost video doorbells (Eken, Tuck and similar devices using the Aiwit app) sold via major marketplaces lack basic access controls and encryption, enabling easy unauthorized pairing and remote viewing of live/recorded footage; researchers demonstrated hijacking from thousands of miles away and warned platforms and regulators while offering consumer hardening advice.
