Japanese Car-Sharing Site Times Car Data Breach Affects 6.6M Accounts

A data breach at Times Car (operated by Times Mobility / Park24) exposed personal information for about 6.6 million current and former accounts, with identity-verification documents (including driver’s license images, utility bills and student IDs) accessed for about 1.6 million accounts. The company blocked the unauthorized access route, is working with an external forensic specialist, has notified regulators and police, and warns users to watch for phishing; there is currently no evidence the data has been publicly distributed or misused.
