4 Arrested as Operation Endgame Disrupts Ransomware Botnets

Europol-led Operation Endgame targeted and disrupted major dropper infrastructures used to deploy ransomware and other malware—impacting families of droppers such as IcedID, SystemBC, Smokeloader, Trickbot, Pikabot, and Bumblebee—resulting in four arrests, 16 searches, disruption of over 100 servers across multiple countries, and seizure/control of over 2,000 domains; investigations include monitoring and legal seizure of significant cryptocurrency proceeds.
