Paying Ransom Won’t Help as VECT 2.0 Ransomware Destroys Data Irreversibly

Check Point Research and Halcyon analysis of the VECT 2.0 RaaS shows critical coding flaws that delete encryption keys and corrupt large files, effectively making the malware a destructive wiper across Windows, Linux and ESXi; despite an affiliate program and supply-chain distribution via TeamPCP, faulty implementation and memory/threading errors limit some functionality, and victims cannot recover data even if ransom is paid.
