Microsoft confirmed that March 2024 Windows Server security updates caused a severe LSASS memory leak on Active Directory domain controllers, leading to escalating memory usage and unscheduled reboots across supported versions (2012 R2–2022). An out-of-band fix has been released, and administrators were advised to uninstall KB5035855/KB5035849/KB5035857 as a temporary mitigation while monitoring affected systems.
