Ransomware attack forces 25 Romanian hospitals to go offline

A mass ransomware attack targeted the Hipocrate Information System used by Romanian hospitals, forcing approximately 100 facilities to take systems offline and encrypting data at least 25 hospitals. The attackers used Backmydata (Phobos family) and demanded 3.5 BTC (~€157,000); DNSC and incident teams are investigating. Most affected hospitals reportedly have recent backups and there is no confirmed evidence of data exfiltration so far.
