Kaspersky releases free tool that scans Linux for known threats

Kaspersky has released KVRT, a free on-demand malware removal tool for 64-bit Linux that uses frequently updated signatures to scan memory, startup objects, boot sectors, and files (including archives), quarantining detections and supporting major distributions; it runs via GUI or CLI with root privileges recommended, requires an internet connection, unpacks temporary files to /tmp during execution, and must be re-downloaded for the latest database—note it is not real-time protection and has not been independently tested by BleepingComputer.
