The BlackSuit ransomware gang claims responsibility for a June 8 cyberattack that encrypted systems across KADOKAWA Group's shared data center, disrupting multiple subsidiaries (notably Niconico). BlackSuit added KADOKAWA to its leak site, published a small sample of stolen data, and threatened to release all sensitive documents and employee/financial data on July 1 unless a ransom is paid; the group is a rebrand of Royal and linked to Conti-associated activity.
