Optics giant Hoya hit with $10 million ransomware demand

Hoya Corporation experienced a ransomware attack attributed to the Hunters International operation, which claimed to have stolen 1.7 million files (~2 TB) and demanded $10 million to avoid releasing them; the incident disrupted production and order processing, the gang applied a no-negotiation policy, and while ransom demands are confirmed no stolen data has been publicly posted yet. Hunters International is a Ransomware-as-a-Service group reportedly sharing code with the defunct Hive operation and has targeted diverse sectors including healthcare.
