Fortinet confirms data breach after hacker claims to steal 440GB of files

Fortinet confirmed that an individual gained unauthorized access to a limited number of files stored on a third‑party cloud-based SharePoint drive after a threat actor posted claims of stealing 440GB of data and shared credentials to an alleged S3 bucket; the actor attempted extortion. Fortinet says the incident affected fewer than 0.3% of its customers, involved no ransomware or access to its corporate network, and there is no reported malicious activity targeting customers.
