Australian energy provider Origin says data breach exposes client data

Origin Energy has confirmed a data breach that exposed customers' PII (full names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, account information and partial financial details) and is investigating the scope; a threat actor claiming to hold data for up to 2 million customers has threatened to publish it unless contacted, while the company notifies affected individuals and law enforcement.
