Media giant Nikkei reports data breach impacting 17,000 people

Nikkei disclosed a Slack compromise stemming from credential theft after an employee machine was infected with malware, resulting in the exposure of names, email addresses and chat histories for 17,368 employees and business partners; the company says no confidential sources or reporting-related data were affected, has forced password resets, and voluntarily notified Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission.
