US sanctions APT31 hackers behind critical infrastructure attacks

The U.S. Treasury, DOJ, FBI, State Department and U.K. authorities announced sanctions, unsealed indictments, and reward offers against Wuhan Xiaoruizhi (Wuhan XRZ) and seven MSS-linked operators attributed to APT31 for a 14-year state-backed campaign of spear-phishing and intrusions that targeted U.S. and U.K. government entities, critical infrastructure, businesses, journalists, and electoral systems, affecting thousands of victims globally.
