Equilend warns employees their data was stolen by ransomware gang

EquiLend, a New York-based securities lending platform, experienced a January ransomware incident that caused systems to be taken offline; LockBit claimed responsibility. The company later confirmed attackers stole employee PII (including names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers) and is offering two years of identity protection, while reporting no evidence that client transaction data was accessed or exfiltrated.
