Palo Alto Networks warns of DoS bug letting hackers disable firewalls

Palo Alto Networks disclosed CVE-2026-0227, a high-severity PAN-OS flaw allowing unauthenticated attackers to cause a DoS that forces firewalls into maintenance mode when GlobalProtect gateway or portal is enabled; patches and upgrades have been published for affected PAN-OS and Prisma Access versions, administrators are urged to upgrade, and while no active exploitation was observed at publication, many devices remain internet-exposed and the vendor has a recent history of actively exploited PAN-OS flaws.
