Canadian authorities arrested Alexander "Connor" Moucka (aka Waifu/Judische) after investigations found an attacker (tracked as UNC5537) used infostealer malware to steal credentials and access Snowflake customer accounts lacking MFA, targeting at least 165 organizations and causing data breaches that exposed data for hundreds of millions of individuals; Snowflake, Mandiant, and CrowdStrike linked the campaign and Snowflake has moved to enforce MFA and stronger password requirements.
