Nova Scotia Power confirms hackers stole customer data in cyberattack

Nova Scotia Power disclosed a data breach discovered April 28, 2025 with intrusion activity traced back to March 19, 2025; threat actors accessed network servers and likely exfiltrated sensitive customer data (names, contact and address information, DOB, SINs, driver’s license numbers, account/billing history, and some bank account numbers). The company reports no impact to electricity production, no evidence of data misuse to date, has mailed notifications to impacted customers, and is offering two years of credit monitoring through TransUnion.
