SurveyLama data breach exposes info of 4.4 million users

SurveyLama experienced a data breach in February 2024 that exposed 4,426,879 user accounts, including full names, email addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, physical addresses, IP addresses, and password hashes (salted SHA-1, bcrypt, or argon2). Have I Been Pwned verified the dataset and SurveyLama notified affected users; while the data was not reported as publicly posted at the time, SHA-1 hashed passwords and the volume of PII create a high risk of credential cracking and downstream fraud, so affected users should reset passwords and monitor for misuse.
