ATF confirms “major incident” after recent Qilin breach claims

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) confirmed a breach of a standalone system after the Qilin ransomware gang added ATF to its dark web leak site; ATF says the incident is under investigation with the Department of Justice and that its enterprise network and core systems do not appear affected. Qilin is described as a Ransomware-as-a-Service operation with a history of many victims globally.
