Windows KB5121767 OOB update fixes shutdowns on some Dell PCs

Microsoft released emergency out-of-band updates (KB5121767 and KB5121768) to fix a compatibility issue affecting a limited number of Dell PCs after the June 23, 2026 Windows preview update (KB5095093) introduced a conflict between the new Windows USB-C Connection Manager interface and the Intel Innovation Platform Framework (IPF) Processor Participant driver, which could cause a yellow exclamation in Device Manager, poor performance, increased heat, battery drain, and unexpected shutdowns; affected systems were blocked from the July 2026 security update until patched and guidance for managed deployments was provided.
